This study shows that an aqueous extract from stevia leaves can help lower random blood glucose levels, fasting blood glucose, and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c). At the same time, it significantly boosts insulin and liver glycogen levels in diabetic rats compared to both diabetic and non-diabetic control rats after 8 weeks. The best results were seen with a concentration of 500 ppm/kg body weight of the stevia extract.
